Founder's Statement

The goal of my work has always been simple: to challenge viewers to see, feel, and experience the struggles of others and to be immersed in that struggle in the midst of the broader society. I work to capture the intensity and truth of relationships… both my own relationships with these strugglers facing racial discrimination, mental health battles, and addiction, and the relationship they have to their struggles. Working with nonprofits has grown out of these relationships-  not the other way around. My work consists of videos and documentaries about individuals and communities that are among the marginalized and often trapped beneath the weight of stigma and prejudice. I strive for honesty and a commitment to integrity in storytelling. I carry this commitment into every new story I tell. I founded Blindeye to continue to accurately and honestly capture and portray the heartfelt humanity we all share- to be strong, to be resilient, to find healing, and to live and thrive in community.
